Ever get jealous of someone else's bullie?

I hate to admit this...but someone in my neighborhood has amazingly beautiful Bullie(imported from overseas) and even though I wouldn't trade my Tuffster for the world, I'm kind of jealous how beautiful his bullie is. He's got that classic "Munch" look to him. Beautiful red and white with a adorable portly build and a face to die for. I just may have to try to arrange a puppy playdate!

By the way . . .

I just reread my post and it didn't come out the way I intended. I don't dislike a brown coat. To the contrary, I think a brown coat is beautiful too. What I meant is that I don't like a brown coat being called a red coat. To me, brown is brown, and red is red.

Thanks

I do love the color of my bulldogs, just wish I had one more, and that she was a true red. My oldest, Boo, is described as a red brindle and in certain lights does look red. I love Flynn's color too, which is to my eyes a beautiful caramel color.

I do have an orange cat, which I guess is close to being a red, lol.

I'm infatuated with Cannon ....

I like having a Bully gal-pal, but Cannon is .... well .... an absolute mega-hunk!

Maybe he'll send me his pawprint?

Yes, my husband rubs it in my face that Tuffy is brown not red!

And after seeing what a true red puppy looks like I have to say he's right. You are so right about mislabeling. Tuffy was described as "red and white" by his breeder and the picture from the website made him look really red! I guess it's all a matter of perception and perhaps when they have a red tint to the coat breeders describe them that way probably because fawn and white or brown and white doesn't "sound" quite as pretty.

I'll have to check out that Mackenzie so I can be jealous too. But you have nothing to feel bad about. Your pups are gorgeous!

I'm jealous of Mari's late Theo and Deb's Mackenzie for their re

I love a deep, true red like their coats, versus the brown coats that are often called red but really are not red. Clovis, for example, has sometimes been called red and white but IMO she is not at all partly red.

Oh, forgot to mention

that the standard does address the matter of "quality" meaning intense, bright, well balanced colors are preferred to dull, faded or brindles of uneven distribution.

If you saw a red next to a fawn of good quality

you could easily tell the difference. With differing influences on the quality, they can be close. But like I said, I love em all!!

Fascinating info, Carol!

I was always confused by the difference between the "red" and "fawn." The differences seem quite subtle...unless you have a deep red, don't you think?
