DUMB question..Can you Male Bulldog lift it's leg to pee?..lol

as dumb of question that this is Gus can not and does not lift his leg.
PERSONALLY never had any breed of dog that could not do a head stand almost
lifting his leg for a male dog.
find it odd that Gus does not do it.
he will find a spot and lean into it and pee.

I think it is the body structure in Gus that he can not lift his leg.
no marking for this bulldog..lol on anything in the house...
thank goodness.

just curious is your bulldog lifts his leg.
my pugs on the other hand..can do head stands ..no problem..and that is even the porky one..lol
thought all Males could lift their legs

yep

Bear has been lifting since he was a young pup. He can stand in the middle of the yard and hike his leg way up there.

Sumo lived until 8 1/2 and never once lifted unless he was up against a bush, and then it wasn't a real lift.

I swept up a small pile of leaves this morning. It's all I can do today as I did too much yesterday....Boo Hoo, I have to find easy stuff to do. Buddy thought he should water my leaves...Just for good luck I guess.

yes, if they are showing off to another dog..

normally Jr and Bent squat UNLESS there is a new foster dog in the house or they are out and there are other dogs around. Then they show off and lift their legs and do the chicken scratch.

Normal day to day peeing is done in a squat.

Kirby started lifting his leg a few months ago..

He isn't neutered and loves to mark everything on our walks. He still squats sometimes, which I think is weird. Guess it depends on his mood.

so NOT just a boy thing..lol

Zeena my female pug is almost as good as the boys for lifting.
all three pugs also hump each other too..
this is really a marking territory thing for sure with the pugs
Gus personally I think can not be bothered..lol
lazy is a good point..might be why Gus doesn't..

that is a good point....

so far does not seem to be that many that do it
yes and my pugs are markers big time..
and you are right
Gus is in charge in this house also
maybe he does not feel a need lift his leg.
he does not do it on walks either..EVER

Why do the extra work of lifting your leg?

Male dogs lift their legs to mark territory. A high mark means the dog is BIG. But, bulldogs know they are in charge. They don't have to prove anything to anyone.

(In other words, they are comfortable and confident.)

Woof!

cops a squat..lol. yea that is what Gus does too..

he is very picky where that spot is too..
maybe it not that odd not too... I guess for a male bulldog..NOT to lift their legs.

one of my pugs is going to fall over too..lol can see it happeni

If they fall over I bet that put an end to lifting as well..lol
they have come close to falling over a number of times..

Sometimes

If Hank feels lazy (which is most of the day) he will just squat. He will lift his leg when the other three girls are out with him. My female miniature pinscher Penny will absolutely lift both back legs off of the ground, but Delilah my little chocolate miniature pinscher lifts hers happy.gif

Bulldogs...its an obsession!
Where's da remote control?

Archie occasionally lifts a leg...

Usually, if he is in a very public setting or when he's feeling especially jaunty. However, in the backyard and the privacy of his own home, he just "cops a squat".

only when he feels like it.....

most of the time he doesn't. Usually only does it after he comes back from day care.

We had a cocker spaniel once that tried to lift his leg for the first time on a cold icy day. He fell over, and never tried again!

Gus says please tell me I am ok..not too..hahaha the female pug

I have never seen a female do it until the little pug that I have here.
she is almost as good as the boys at it..
but poor Gus feels very out of place..
I just shake me head and tell me that is not the norm Gus

Cain lifts his leg.........and squats.......but

my Cocker Spaniel Floyd never, ever lifted his leg. He was a squater!

Most of the time, Meaty does, and sometimes, he still squats, wh

is cute to me, because squatting reminds me of when he was still a baby happy.gif
