I hit the quik in Bella's name and wow did it bleed and bleed and bleed. I know they look worse then they are but still.
using a bar of soap..was the only thing I could find at the moment that worked. you had to apply the dry soap a few times...just rubbing the nail and it stopped.
but wander if Quik Stop is a good product to pick up.
on the way out the door shortly for Bella's recheck for the hemotoma and think I should stop and get some kind of product if this happens again.
FIRST TIME I hit the quik on any dog and done many nails in the past...arrrgg
Sometimes I have luck with corn starch and flour...
and sometimes I don't. I use Quikstop and it does work well.
Michelle, Helen, Penny, Spanky and Faye pup
could not find it today when I was out...all they had was some o
product that they said on the lable is really just cornstarch
do I make a paste out of the flour and constarch or use it dry
the bar of soap did the trick...and that was easy enough to do as well..
but needed a few applicants.
the quik stop is supposed to work right away so they say.. only needs to be done the one time
did not know until Elaine posted on the medical board that you have to hold this stuff on for a few minutes to get it to work..learning something new everyday
I've used Flour

I always have quik stop on hand

is the flour dry or as a paste???
i tried it both ways..not sure which is right
but the bleeding was really bad
I used a bar of soap and rubbed the nail and it stopped
but took a couple of times..but it did stop
I tried the flour and the constarch
maybe did not do it right..not sure
think I will try to find some quik stop out there today if I can
I tried the cornstarch and the flour and no luck with them
thanks for your help
Re: Cross post from the medical board...anyone used Quik STOP...
You can use cornstarch. Also I have used the quick stop, it works well.
I use flour
I hit the quik once years ago and can clearly remember all the blood, it's awful, but I found flour works well, just dip the nail in so it is covered and hold the paw until it stops.
