Jay needs to go get his car emission tested and they closed the one in Palatine so I have no idea where the next closest one is. I also thought I could take the time to do some house cleaning. Sounds like a fun day huh!!

but you know with Shaw, nothing bad will ever happen. He's in the best hands. Are you gonna spend the day in Crystal Lake shopping before he's ready to go home?

I'll look for an update tomorrow late morning/early afternoon cuz I'm sure he will be Shaw's 1st or 2nd surgery.

Hope things go well and you come home safe and sound

When it was Chunk's turn to go under the knife a few years ago, this was a post I did

We picked Chunkie up from the vet's this afternoon following his surgery to raise his bark an octave. It was successful and our boy is tender but resting. He's also hungry but can't feed him yet. I felt so darn bad for him, I put this little ditty together more for me than him.

Chunk's Lament

Oh, come bully lovers
and hear my sad tale,
what happened to me
will leave you quite pale.

Woke up this morning
the sun was outside,
My mama said, "Chunk,
let's go for a ride."

I jumped in the car
but Lily wasn't there,
I should have known better
no one said, "Chunk, beware."

A short ride later
we arrived at the vet
"Why am I here?
"A checkup, I'll bet."

But I went right to sleep,
I wasn't a fighter
and when I woke up
I felt somewhat lighter.

So bullies please listen
this news will go far
when mama says "ride",
DON'T GET IN THE CAR!!!

May he have a speedy recovery.

it is never easy taking in a dog to for surgery. I cried too when I took in Gus to be neutered. he ended up needing emergency surgery when his stomach got strangulated with his bowel from a hernia..told them to neuter him at the same time.
he came through ok..but wow did I cry too.
