My neighbors grandkids (the boys that helped Audrey learn how to walk on a leash) moved out of their house so we don't get to see them as much, but when they come to visit their Grandma they always come to see if Audrey can come out to play. Today I walked out with my bulldog socks on and the oldest, he's 6 or 7, said "Hey you have Audrey on your socks!" He is so cute!
The little sister(she's 3) brought her uncle's(he still lives across the street with his parents) pit bull puppy, and their other cousin (11), and little brother (5), so I had a yard full of kids and dogs. The 3 yr old doesn't speak English yet, and the 5 year old is making really good progress now that he's in pre-k, so the older brother ends up translating for all of us. It gets interesting sometimes because he is in kindregarten, and is still learning English himself.
They always play soccer with Audrey, and she LOVES it. The puppy is young, and lives ourside 24/7 in a pen. (They actually got a male and female pit bull puppy, which the kids told me they plan to breed. GROAN)
Audrey did NOT like it when the puppy jumped up on my legs, and she started head butting and shoving that puppy around, but when I told her to stop, and poked her a few times, she actually STOPPED!!! She didn't attack the puppy! She played soccer with the kids and IGNORED it, even when it tried to get the soccer ball. Someone in my house let my other 2 dogs out, and Audrey didn't care one bit. She just played with those kids and had a great time and was not aggressive at all, even with 3 other dogs going after the soccer ball.
The kids thought it was the greatest thing on earth when they told Audrey to sit and she listened to them. They got her to lie down too, and it was SO CUTE to see them trying to remember the hand signals.
