Another dry paw question

I have a followup question on the informative dry paw question that Chrissy posted a few days ago. I'm wondering if I should apply bag balm (or the other remedies) if Tuffy's paws are just dry and not cracked. I was ready to pick up some bag balm for Tuffy's dry paw bads, but I read online that its much better in the long run for your dog to have tough pads than soft, tender ones. And if I do go ahead and lubricate how often should I do it for maintenance?

Thanks!

hmmmm..use Gold Bond Ulimate moisturizing

I read the back of the bottle and do not see anything about that.
like I said this is the one that the vet recommended..
I use it all the time
but did not see anything about that on the bottle

injested wander if they mean a whole bottle
nothing on the one that I have here..
used it for years

When I was at target I saw the Gold Bond...

They actually have a few varieties of the stuff...soft skins one and also a healing lotion for cracked skin. Only thing that made me nervous about using it without socks is that is says contact the poison control center if ingested!

Thanks, Pat

Should I just apply the ointment once a week and skip the socks if Tuffy's paws are just kind of dry and not cracked?

should have said to ME

NO I use the gold bond moisturizer...it was suggested to be from

Bella got cracked paws as a young pup...and I took her to a bulldog vet that suggested the gold bond.
I wrapped her feet in some gauze and then used some socks over it

NOW i just use it all the time
great stuff
and works great for people too

Bella seems to leave it alone
Gus has soft paws but still put in on him anyhow
once a week

dry is one thing but cracked is another..

when the paws get to dry they will crack and that is painful for the dog
I use the gold bond on Bella's paws about once a week
and after each bath..so the moisture holds better
they need tougher pads for walking but gotta watch out for cracking

use it on Gus paws too
but only once a week or so
he does not get dry feet ever
