So what else is new. Today I took Quigley on a nice walks. He loves walks. Instead of going our regular route, we stopped for a little while in a park (a block from our house) that has a very large open space. I dropped the leash because I am trying to train him to walk off leash before we go to a dog park. He did fine. Then we turned around to go back the same way and dropped the leash again. He took off. I chased him down and grabbed him but he kept running to the park gate. Fine. We got back on the sidewalk to go on the regular walk and he stopped short. He insisted that we turn around and go back home. Nothing had happened to him in the park or elsewhere. He just wanted to go home.

Does anyone have any idea why he did this or why sometimes, he tries to bolt (and pull) toward home?
