Has anyone hear from Vicky to see how Sophie is doing?
Karonelaine
getting a second opinion today (Friday, June 24). I was VERY worried that her spleen COULD rupture at any time--Sorry, I don't
remember if I wrote that in my first post about it -----The GOOD news is, I called the vet a couple days later
to tell him I had googled, and wish I hadn't.....LOL !!! I told him MANY sites say a splenic mass can rupture
and the doggie dies quickly from hemorrhage. He said he is NOT worried about rupture, because her mass
is well encapsulated. And even though I KNEW that if she was at THAT high of a risk when he did the
ultraound, of COURSE he would've done surgery immediately! But, I was still scared, of course! It was
good to just call him and ask!..
....
We are very curious what the second vet will say today! Although I love and trust the first vet that we always
go to, we do take them to another vet for more SERIOUS issues, like this one! This particular vet is VERY,
VERY bulldog knowledgable, and some people bring their bulldogs VERY long distances to see him, so I
know after Sophie sees him today, I will feel even better that she'll be okay! I'm veryy, verrry curious if he is
going to want to remove it immediately, OR if he wants to wait like the first vet does. ..
...
In the meantime, she developed some hot spots and they SCARED me until I found out how common
they are. The vet saw her 2 days ago, shaved some of the hair from her wrinkles, and started her on
an oral antibiotic and a wonder-bull drying solution. I'm more nervous about EVERYTHING now since
she's been through some other issues this year, plus with her spleen.....GAH! Nervous Mommy!
Thank you again for asking, -----you are SO sweet !!! ((( Hugs ))))
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!
And SOPHIE Bubbles *Rapscallion* (LOL!) ---born 4/3/11----our second bulllllyyyy!!!!
