Well, we are finally starting to receive waves of snow here, from 1-3" inches at a time, so yesterday our bosses, who have a cabin in the mountains here, invited the hubby & I up to play in the serious powder that had fallen over the past 2 days here around Gunnison. We had 3" of new snow at our campground and they got a little over 2 feet up at their cabin. Amelia is just a beast in the snow. She was raised that way anyhow so she loved every minute playing with her husky, a pit mix and now everyone's new friend a mini-Doxie that other friends of ours just acquired.
Although she really wanted to run alongside the sleds with the bigger dogs we didn't think she could (or that we should) let her for an hour ride up to the cabin. So once she realized she had a nice fleece blanket to sit on, she rode very well with my hubby the whole way. We did let chase us for short spurts up at the cabin so she was quite happy about that! Since there was a total of 4ish feet in areas around the cabin, she would just disappear from view so many times if she was running along with the bigger dogs inside the snowmobile tracks. And, of course, since she has been to our bosses' cabin many times with her prior owners, she knows exactly where the water bowls in the mud room are, the snacks, and most importantly which spot she prefers in front of the fire with the other pups.
She was soooooo tired on our ride home, we thought we were going to have to carry her into the house like a toddler. Haha! A few pics from our day :)
Love it!
What a lucky baby to get to have all that fun in the snow!
Jet our new princess, who found her forever home with us 11/2016 (she is 4)
My first love Tater, RIP baby boy (7/6/06 - 2/21/16)
That is one lucky girl
looks like so much fun and nothing like a roaring fire at the end of the day. Love that 1st picture of her on the sled.
I love this.
She looks like one happy girl.
My Favorite One
with my hubby as we were headed up the mountain. He made it his profile pic on facebook and everyone we know is saying "look at that smile she has!" She's definitely going to have a Life full of adventure with us.
That looks like great fun!
Thanks for sharing!!!
I LOVE it!!!
What great fun!! We also snowmobile, but we have to haul from Texas up to our ground in Wyoming, and we never take our dogs...they would have a heart attack in snow! A couple are very short coated girls, the other two, well, lets just say those boys are sissys in the cold!! Wish I had my bully girl, she loved burrowing under snow and chasing imaginary mice:-)
Amy and Sophia

Our babies LOVE snow, too----but we haven't had ANY yet.... Aside from all the beautiful doggies and hoomans, I am

Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.
