Reporting in for duty

Hello Bulldogs World!!! I am super excited to be a part of the team. We are a HUGE bulldog breed fan. Our first bully, Ajax, was brought into our lives and it haven't been the same since. January of this year, Ajax suddenly passed away. We were playing the day before as usual and the next day he was in distress. This was a HUGE loss my family and especially me. Ajax and I were EXTREMELY close. Through my grief, with the help of many supportive friends, we started looking for a breeder around our state. Ajax was our only dog and the energy in the house was CRAZY QUIET! Ajax defiantly left a big hole in our house when he passed. I started looking for many purchasing a baby next year or the end of this year as I felt like I wasn't ready. I knew I want a bulldog again as I couldn't see my life without one but didn't want one that looked at ALL like Jax including sex. So I knew that would take some time. Funny how life has things all ready worked out for you and you don't even know it. I ended up contacting a breeder about her breeding program and she just had puppies born and only one was available. It was a boy, so I wasn't interested. So I thought. She put me on her "mailing list" and I got a 3 week update on the puppies a few days later. I was sure I would probably use her services when the time and the sex was right. Well, to make the next bit shorter, that puppy she had available I ended up falling head over heels with his eyes!! Nothing talk to me like the dogs eyes and he has them. I couldn't get them out of my mind. It's like looking into his soul. Come to find out he was born the day Ajax went into distress. Plus, he looked like an Oliver! Olly for short. So he purchased him and he is now home with us at 13 weeks old today and 20 POUNDS!!! I couldn't believe it. And he is being fed TOW puppy formula and only get a little over 2 cups a day. He BEGS for more!!! He is going to be a big bully with an awesome personality! We are just so smitten! We still have our sad moments about Jax and miss him SO SO SO MUCH as Oliver is not a Jax. He doesn't look like him at all and a completely different bully all around. But we still have our moments and know Ajax would have LOVED Oliver.

I am looking forward to posting some questions and just love being apart of a small group that share the knowledge and the kindness for this breed. Some times I feel so alone when it comes to questions about this breed which I am sure you can relate. Talk you you soon Bulldogs World!!

Welcome Christiane...

I have an Oliver also, he's 11 and doing well for his age.  We also have 3 others, Newman (5), Chester (8) and Jessa (5 - Newman's sister).  TOW is a good food, I always feed grain free and also use filtered water to prevent tear stains.  So sorry about Ajax, I know how they are missed when they pass.
