Huge progress in our eyes, although Amelia continues to show zero interest in our cats, not chasing them, not trying to run up and sniff them - nothing. I was more worried about our oldest boy Si (prounounced "sigh") a/k/a Bossy Cat - as he has never been afraid of dogs. He has never used his claws, but since our cats are harnessed trained for the outdoors, Si has swatted many on the nose that got too close.
But he seems mezmerised by her snoring while sleeping. So this morning after all Si's talking and posturing over her, he calmly lays down beside her to just observe. This in turn has allowed his younger brother to feel a bit more confident in entering the same room with Amelia as well. Trying not to stress the cats too much while trying to show Amelia all the love and attention she deserves is quite the sudden balancing act! But she is such a sweet girl, it has been easier than we even planned on.
After re-reading my new member post, I also failed to mention that my hubby and I live and have traveled the country fulltime in a 40' RV for the past 5yrs. But we are 6 days away from closing on our new house so we aee dedicated to makin this a smooth transition for all of us :D
This is such good news!
I love it when all our four leggers get along!
What area is your new house in? Wishing you a smooth transistion on your move.
Same Town
We will remain in the same town we're in now - Gunnison, CO. But we have purchased a park model with a significant amount of extra room than just our RV. It even has a small loft so the cats will be in heaven to have nice, quiet hiding places. Once our campground clears out for the season she won't have to be back on a leash even until next Spring. This town is hugely dog friendly as well, so just about everywhere we could even go out to dinner allows pets on their patios. Even in the winter they are enclosed & heated patios so it will be just perfect for her to romp & play with all her old pup friends in this town.
How cool! I love Gunnison...
It is a great place. Best of luck with settling down and being stationary for a while! I bet that will be a change for you all!
Your little Ameila is lovely. Really makes me miss my girl so much, but also maes me want to have another someday soon! Thanks for sharing her with us!
