I am very glad I found this forum and I hope I can find more info and educate myself to help my Piggy. She has a severe hypoplastic trachea and at 5 months she is still 12 lbs. Her breathing is heartbreaking and I just do not want to give up on her. I would apreciate any advices on how to take care of her. I give her a lemon every morning, limit her activity to the minimum, I hand feed her, I give her steam treatments, her lungs seems to be clear now, but her breathing looks and sounds so painful. I wish I had a magic pill .... The surgery is out of questions, she is too small and weak for it.
I'm so sorry...
it must be awful to watch her struggle. We had one with a small trachea and it did grow some as he did, but I'm sure his was not as severe. I know that eventually they would try to widen the nares and shorten the palate to help breathing, but 5 months is probably too young even if she was in better shape. Sending you good thoughts for your pup.
Thank you.
It is hard to watch, but we just hope she will get better and go day by day.
So sorry about sweet Piggy !!! I don't
know anything about this condition, but I'm praying for her & you !!! (( hugs ))
