Our sweet, 12-13 year old guy that we adopted 10 months ago crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday.
Hubbs is SO good with fun names----first, he renamed "Mr. Magoo" , then, he said "yknowww...he's old and
wise, and looks like a "Professor", so we alternated between those two cute names. I wish y'all could hear the
way my hubbs says this in the CUTEST voice "....and he has a phD in LOVE, from Bulldog University!" LOL :-)
We are obviously SO, SO sad, but also relieved that he's at peace now. He had lots of health issues that were
getting worse. This was hubb's and my first time to deal with euthanasia; so very hard to say yes to the vet;
yet such a relief, too. We got lots of snuggles in before he passed. He is buried on our land next to our
other forner foster who died.........
....
. So far, we've only been through the sad loss of foster doggies; I can't even
begin to imagine how hard it'll be with Meaty and Sophie. And although Professor only adopted us 10 months ago;
it felt like he'd been with us forever. Succch a sweet, gentle soul he was! We're soooo happy he got to meet
Santa Paws, and have a nice Christmas with us-- (he's the sweetie pie on the right, in the Santa hat)
(((( hugs ))))) to everybully!
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!
And SOPHIE Bubbles *Rapscallion* (LOL!) ---born 4/3/11----our second bulllllyyyy!!!!
I'm so sorry!
Yuo guys gave him such a great life while he was with you. My heart goes out to you today, and a hug and sad goodbye to the Professor.
Amy and Sophia
So sorry to hear this
You gave him a wonderful home with lots of love. RIP sweet Professor.
So sorry to hear this...
he looks like such a sweet boy. Im happy he had a good last year.
RIP Professor. I adore the seniors.
I don't know what Professors background was prior to you fostering him. What I do know is you gave him love, happiness a warm belly and a comfy bed.
Janis....omg--your babies in their bed together
makes me SMILE!!! :-) We have that same bed, too. Ooooh, we LOVE the seniors, too! He was our second senior, and
I'm pretty sure we'll foster./ adopt more! I HOPE Professor had a wonder-bull life before his Dad
surrendered him to our rescue group last year. Apparently, he'd had him since he was a puppy----sooo, DH and
I cannot IMAGINE what it'd be like to surreneder a 12/13 year old !!!!!!!! Unlike many snarky, rude comments
people made about Professor's former Daddy, I chose to realize that none of us has any idea what the REAL
story is; so I can't judge. There COULD HAVE been lots of OTHER things going on, but ALL we were told
was that the guy's new wife "didn't like the dog", so he was forced to surrender him. IF that is the actual
reason, then I DO think it's horrible! One of our vets made me laugh when he said "sounds like he marrried
the WRONG WOMAN!" ROFL !!!!!!! :-) I always wondered if his Daddy missed him, if he or his new wife
regretted it, etc. I also thought of his Daddy yesterday while the vet was giving the euthanasia medication.
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!
And SOPHIE Bubbles *Rapscallion* (LOL!) ---born 4/3/11----our second bulllllyyyy!!!!
That's what we ultimately found out
from Amelia's former Dad -- as much as his new girlfriend tried, she could not bring herself to like/want a dog. Crazy since the new girlfriend was actually his long ago girlfriend rekindled & when they rekindled their relationship she knew he had Amelia. Oh well, their loss our huge, huge gain :D
I am so sorry about The Professor
Letting go is the hardest act of love ever. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Godspeed, Professor, you were well loved.
