Good evening everyone.  My name is Kellie (and hubby is George) and we are currently in the logistics process of acquiring a 2yr old (spayed) female English bully.  Her former owners ended their relationship and Miss Amelia was moved from where we live in CO to IL and now "dad" has come to realize that he was really never, nor does he really want to be, the primary care giver of this beautiful gal.  Former "mom" was unable to keep her either as she has to now work multiple jobs just to keep the lights on.  And she loves Amelia enough to understand being alone all day in her condo would not make for a mentally happy or healthy pup.  As a cute sidenote - her full name is Amelia Earhart - as her former owners operated a hot air balloon business.  She's been flying multiple times and even owns a real dog parka because they've had her on a snowmobile in the winter .. although I just can't imagine those would be things I would have allowed!

My husband and I have known and loved Amelia since they bought her.  And after "dad's" frantic rehoming post on facebook, we discussed it for hours on end - primarily so I could explain to my hubby that they do require more care and attention than many other breeds.  We decided we just could not let her be given to someone else who didn't understand, nor want to learn, this breed's requirements, and possibly end up in a shelter.  She is also one of the very few breeds that my hubby adores.

She will be our 1st bully and we also have 2 cats in our home who we hope will forgive us.  LOL  Fortunately Amelia was raised in a home with 2 cats as well and we understand from her former owners that she could not care less about the cats unless they want to play.   My husband and I manage an RV Campground in Colorado that is hugely dog friendly.  We let our workers bring their dogs to work in the office and ride around on the golfcarts with their humans who work maintenance outside so she won't need to be left alone while we work.

She will also have all the many breeds of dogs that she grew up with nearby for playdates.  Our bosses, and their families, were just as heartbroken to read that she needed to be rehomed but all of them already have multiple dogs as well.

I'm looking very forward to learning from all the amazing information and experiences here on your forum, and to share much more of her beautiful face when we have her in our arms.

I've included a couple of snaps of Amelia that I, or my boss, took of her.
