......i am overwhelmed and overcome by your outpouring of thoughts and prayers.....not surprised though, because you ALL are very special people. i am sorry i did not get you the news earlier...miss till developed breathing problems sat evening at mom's in wisconsin and by 3am sunday morning we were on the road back to rochester and our emergency vet. they have NO clue as to what caused her trachea to swell and they just could not get her back to breathing normally. the last intubation seemed to help as she settled down and finally layed down. her respirations were at 60pm. promising....when they checked her 10 minutes later she was gone. anyone, ideas?
if you would have told me 6 years ago of this journey with my 3x tossed away litte girl, i wouldn't have imagined it. so much....so packed with love and support for each other. she is the defintion of bulldog....tenacity. everything thrown in her path, she attacked with all she had, never fretting her position or status. you walked kiddo!!! now you are dancing...........to anyone who may come to our home, the hose will always leak from her putting a tooth through it and the front door will keep those nose smudges a bit longer. for, if you read between those goober lines, you will find it says tillie mae was here!! that is as it should be....i am crushed.....thank you again....have a smile

I'm so sorry to read this.....
I know how much you loved that little girl, we all did. Sadly I think dogs, as with people just reach an age where the body breaks down-sounds like her trachea collapsed. At least she knew many years of love with you. Sending lots of prayers and hugs.

Hey lady,
My heart breaks for you. The two of you sure had a very special relationship.
And as you imagined, I can see her flying around in her own plane.
Tons of hugs

Diane.................
hang in there. You know we all understand the heartbreak and pain. Please, please, keep sharing her with us. We ALL need it!
awww......what you said about her cute nose smudges made
me sad AND happy at the same time!!!! :-) Oh, and the hole in the hose, too----hee hee!!!
I am SO, SO sorry this happened to your precious girl.....and they tried SO hard to save her!!! I do have an idea of
what COULD HAVE happened----and only telling you because you asked. Meaty has had FOUR incidents in his life
so far (he's only six...and thankfully, Sophie has NEVER had this happen!) where all of a sudden, his face starts
swelling, and thank God, we ALWAYS have Benadryl on hand, knowing facial swelling could quickly lead to
tracheal issues. We've also THANKFULLY been ablt to run him to the emerg. vet each time where he'd get a steroid
injection. The last time, on the way to the emerg vet (the closest is 25 miles), I sat with him in the backseat and monitored
his breathing---it was JUST starting to become a bit labored----obviously, we were terrified. They/ we ASSUME it's
always been an insect bite, but we've not ever been sure, because only once have we seen evidence of a bite?...
....
We know a bulldog-specialist vet who also breeds and shows bullies----he and his wife are in LOVE with this breed,
like all of us! :-) He told us that they lost one of their precious babies within about TEN MINUTES of getting
bitten by a centipede......(I never asked, but I guess they didn't have Benadryl at their house)....he said they
rushed her to his office, but it was too late.......it's so sad how FAST their tracheas can swelll.....
......
Again, I am SO very sorry-----what a precious girl she was!!!!!! ((( hugs )))
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!

thank you!
i appreciate your info. i did give tillie a benadryl saturday evening, the vets also treated her for an allergic reaction..........we just don't know and probably never will. a knowledgable bulldog friend told me it was just her time..........thanks again and hug your babies! thanks for loving my girl too!
