Male puppy peeing in baby's room

I have a 6 mo. old male puppy and 2 year bitch.  My male puppy is peeing in my newborns room.  He never did this before.  I am unsure if he is marking or if it's the lamb fur rug that is causing him to do it.  In either case, this is suppose to be our house and I don't want to keep him out of the room.  Any thoughts?

I would remove the lambskin rug. Try that first.

If that isn't the issue, then bar him from going in that particular room. If your female is coming in or is in heat, he will also possibly start marking since he is getting a little older. Not sure about that though as I have only spayed or neutered dogs. Hope you find the answer!

Amy is correct...

remove the rug.  They sometimes will mark on something soft like a sheepskin and the new baby also may have something to do with it.

We've just started having this problem with

our 12-year-old precious guy who adopted us 6 months ago.  I thought it odd that he JUST

started marking, because

until 2 weeks ago, he NEVER went in the house.  I knew that marking can sometimes

be a show of domination----but---again, why would he start after being here 6 months?
(and Sophie is spayed, so there are no heat issues).
What I read might shed light on your situation; maybe he's not showing domination per se;

but he is insecure because of the baby?    I wonder if you were to give him extra lovins,  especially when the baby is nearby, maybe that could that help?

Or, like

the others said, maybe he just LOVES that rug? LOL !  :-)  Unfortunately, Sophie STILL

has a problem resisting peeing on soft things----arrgh!  Good luck!
