Bulldogs World

Monty is 8 years old & he was surrendered to MidAtlantic Bulldog Rescue because the child in the home was allergic. So Monty spent a lot of time in the basement with little human contact.  The owners told me he had some "skin issues", which turned out to be much more than they led on to.  His right ear was very infected, to the point you can feel the calcification under it. He's missing many patches of fur all over & his belly was red, raw & swollen. They were feeding him Beneful, which I promptly threw in the trash & switched him to holistic food.  He's been on several medications & his skin culture came back as MRSA. The meds the vet put him on were very strong & made him sick, so Thursday we have another appointment to try something else.  His ear has cleared up & his belly looks much better, he's been here since January 3rd. So for now, he's staying here & we'll see what the future brings.

His coloring is very similar to Zimmer.  Monty is a very sweet mellow boy but he does enjoy his walks & car rides.  Years of prednisone caused him to lose muscle mass in his head & his face is a bit crooked.  He loves the couch & to sleep in the sun.
