Im sooo confused about food.. also what is the dose for claratin?

I have tried my baby on different food sources.. the paw licking has stopped but she still scoots and seems so sad when she does.. I give her benadryl and it helps.. the vet says its allergies.. I have her on zignature lamb kibble, and wellness lamb only canned food.. the paw licking stopped.. but she stil scoots its not her anal glands.. and she sheds on the zignature.. I cant find a food w/out fish oil or fish meal ...she itched on totw pac stream but her coat was prettier and no shedding, I put her on zig trout and salmon thinking she had a potatoe allergy and she started shaking her head.. I will keep her on lamb but was thinking a limited ing diet like the natural balance lamb and rice but I am scared of the rice.. and instead of giving benadryl was thinking claratin anyone know the correct dose of the claratin for a 35-37 little girl? She seems to itch if I add beef wet food to her kibble or buffalo even though the raw beef bones dont bother her.. and even though she does ok on zig lamb kibble and wellness lamb wet food she itched on merrik lamb wet food but I think it has fillers in it.. ugh.. also my vet wants to put her on apoquel if the benadryl doesnt work.. any thoughts?

Hi there! Have you checked the

medical / health question board?  There is a TON of info over there!  :-) Hope that helps!

I will also try to find where I've typed out a lot of info of ALL the food trials we've been through for

all kinds of issues.  Lemme find it and I'll post it to ya.  :-)    Good Luck, I know it's difficult for our babies

to find the right  food!

Oops! I'm sorry---I see that you also posted

on that board.   I have found that this board is busier, so you may actually get more replies over here.  Our

Sophie used to also have anal scooting issues, Meaty had horrrrible ear issues, plus LOTS of interdigital cysts.

I'm not saying it was this FOOD that healed it all, BUT---since switching them to "Natural Balance  Limited Ingredient

Fish and Sweet Potato" kibble, they've both been so much better. ...  I think the key is that is has LIMITED ingredients---since

we all know bulldogs can be so sensitive to many things...

....

I see you also asked about APOQUEL......it has been a GREAT medication for Meaty's paw licking!  That only

started last summer----he was licking this one paw SO much that it was shredding.   The vet was pretty sure it was environmental,

so he started him on Apoquel and it is a WONDER-BULL drug!   BUT, on the realllly hot days in July, he was starting to

chew on it again.  I was giving him Benadryl as well as his daily Apoquel, and it helps.  BUT, just as you said in your

question on the medical board, you're concerned about it making their immune system wacky. ---it's hard to know the

RIGHT things to give them, isn't it?  I also hate

giving him Benadryl so often....arrghh!  BUT, it helped, so I did.  Thank GOODNESS Fall will be here soon, and Meaty

always gets better with cooler weather.  .....

I hope you can find the perfect combo for your baby!  Good luck!  :-)

I wonder if its grass cause sometimes after I take her potty she does it.. but not always.. she is much calmer on the lamb though.

Apoquel is supposed to be great...

We give our 46 pound girl a zyrtec every 12 hours for itchiness.  She likes to rub her tail and we've also found her glands need emptying every month or that bothers her too.  Have you tried the Zignature turkey?  That worked for our guy who cant eat fish.

dose?

My girl is between 35-37 lbs.. do u give once a day? dose?  I have her on zignature lamb dry and zignature canned lamb and wellness lamb it only has lamb and water..
