My Dooley boy who just turned 5 died after a teeth cleaning and extractions. He made it through surgery and was awake. After they removed the tube he let out a scream and died. They worked on him for some time. I am at a loss.

so tragic to lose one so young. Chester had extensive tooth cleaning and removal a few weeks ago, always such a worry when they have anesthesia. So sorry.
so sorry for your loss! This is so very devastating to hear. Does the vet know what happened? I understand if you don't feel up to talking about it. We are all here for you.

He does labs before, uses sevoflurane anesthesia, he uses all the heart monitors, EKG all during the procedure. Monitors after. Somebody is always with the dog. Something catastrophic happened. Possibly a blood clot or something congenital that we did not know about. The vet has never lost a dog during a dental and there is nothing that he would have done different. The guilt that I have is so overwhelming.
guilty, but this was out of your hands. You would not knowingly put Dooley in harms way. You love your baby, and he loves you just as much. I am here for you if you need to vent.

The vet does not know. He goes above and beyond.
