doesn't look bad on the eye but if he has an allergic reaction it can screw with his breathing. If you can't get a hold of the vet I know you can give him benedryl but forget the dosage. (Hopefully someone will answer with the doseage.

As long as his breathing is fine, he should be ok. But, since the swelling is around the eye, you will have to make sure he doesn't scratch the area since he could easily scratch the cornea. If he starts scratching, I would take him to the Vet for a steroid shot. The steroid shot usually relieves the swelling and itching quickly.
I'm very paranoid about stings after losing a bulldog to one 3 years ago. I had my Vet give me steroids to keep on hand just in case.

Chief was bit or stung by something under his tongue. His tongue and face swelled. We were able to control the face swelling but nothing took away the swelling on his tongue. He spent a week at the Vet's before spiking a temp of 107. We had a necropsy performed and it showed bacterial pneumonia. Chief had always been perfectly healthy until this happened. He was 16 months old.

The swelling is gone, and he's back to normal thank God. Thank you all for the input. I was worried and freaking out because it was close to his eye, the poor guy. He's a trooper he let me keep the cool pack on it - he liked it! My ex had just knocked a nest down under the trampoline cuz I hate going near hives. I didn't realize Rocco had wandered over there when they were still buzzing around looking for their hive. I don't think he'll take that route again!

Sounds like you got it taken care of. One thing that is good for bee stings for pain is baking soda and tobacco. I know I have use Tabacco my self for bee stings and yes I have found that if you put it right on the sting it draws it out really fast and the pain goes away fast. Poor rocco I hate to hear this happen to him. Just keep giving him bendryl. Looks like skinny, is that him? Is going to take care of rocco too.

Ouch, poor guy
sounds like you have done what you could for him. Just watch his breathing in case he has any swelling that might effect the airways.
Hugs to the patient.
