here in Gunnison, CO and I'm totally stoked! But I was also a native Texan for 52yrs where snow, except on rare occasions, was just a non-factor. This is only the beginning, and it's about a month late starting. All of our pre-winter to-do's are complete with a huge pellet stove installed keeping us all toasty, heated water lines, artic skirting around our park model home, etc. Now we can sit back and enjoy the show as winter draws even closer. Here inside our campground the average depth of the snow will be from 4-5 feet by late December. I guess I'm the most exited over shopping deep sales all summer and I can finally wear fleece leggings and big sweathers. LOL
And Miss Amelia was certainly ready to play in it once we got a quick break between snow showers!
Aww!!! Miss Amelia is SO adora-bull in her
COZY looking coat !! :-) I'm excited for y'all, and WOW on how prepared you are! We used to live in San Antonio,
and I ALWAYS missed the snow, too! We MIGHT get some this winter---it's never a sure thing in OKC, but I HOPE so!
Some years, we'll get A LOT, and we (and our bulliess!!!) love it----they would play in it all day if they could! :-)
I cannot imagine how MUCH you're getting---wow--- 4 to 5 feet !?!? I'm orginally from Washington, DC, and the
most I ever saw was MAYBE a foot----so I cannot imagine 4 or FIVE !?!? :O Have fun !!!! :-),,.,,
...
P.S.....Arrrgh, I couldn't watch your video, but I DID see the cute photo of Amelia....I'll have to get hubbs to
help me with the vid---it keeps saying our Flash is out-of-date, but it's NOT---arrgggh!! I wanna see your vid !!!
Our sweet Archimedes "MEATY" Bones (or as we say...boneSHHH!) ---born 11/28/08---- our first bullllyyyy!!!

How Cool
It's a pretty insulated little jacket. We did purchase her a Hurrta parka for when winter really arrives here with deeper snow. It will help keep her underside warm and dry too.
SA was one of our favorite cities. We were bikers before we became RVrs so we spent a lot of time from SA through the Hill Country. There are a lot of things - mainly food! - that we miss about Texas but it will be an amazing experience here. We just wish it would really start snowing dang it! We are about a month behind schedule for the snow to start. We need at least 3' on the ground before we can take out the snowmobiles we bought this summer (while they were cheap .. haha).
I hear ya on the snow depth. I had to travel, a lot, for my old job to the east coast. We flipped a coin in my department one day that one of us was going to Thornton, CO and one of us was going to Niagra in January. I won Niagra and the other gal dropped to her knees in thanks. I walked to work every day, to the amusement of our east coast employees who were natives to the area, as I had never seen that much snow having been raised my whole life in Texas. Incredible experience. Now that we have travelled quite a bit I have seen the Canadian Rockies in winter and they may have Niagra beat by a few feet :)
A Carhart for her! That's awesome!!
She looks like she's all ready!
You are a brace soul, moving from Texas to Colorado! I did the opposite, moved from snow to warmer winters. Today is our first cold day this year and I am ready for spring!!
Amy and Sophia
It's So Funny
that she has a Carhartt and neither of us do! I like the fact that it covers her little bum and it so easy on/off with the velro.
I was actually always a "mountain girl" at heart. Before I met the hubby I spent all my vacation time, with friends, in Montana, about 1.5hrs south of Canada. Intended to retire there. When the hubs and I met his eyes were as big as saucers (he was raised in MS but spent most of his adult life in TX for work) when I told him my personal retirement plans - in fact, he almost nervously screamed "You know it snows there right?!?" Hahaha.
Took me 4yrs to convince him that -35 was just a figure of speech. LOL The little house we bought has 8 south facing windows that draw in all those beautiful rays every morning. We woke up today to 8°F but the minute the sun comes up it hits about 76°F inside the living room. Pellet stove goes off, windows go up and we're watching the 1st inch or so of snow melt with our coffee :)
Best thing we ever did was take early retirement (at 49 and 52 back then), buy a big RV and leave the rat race. Our stress level, based on our former careers (IBM and Verizon) of 80+hr work weeks, jumping on planes at a moments notice All.The.Time headed for the next multi-million peep cities, is gone - forever. It's really pure bliss for both of us.
That looks so amazing!
Love seeing the snow, and your girl.
Remind hubby that Mississipi weather is boring!
