Newborns get 1/2 gram when we get home from the Vet's, then again at day 3, 5, 7, 14, 21, 28 and when they are introduced to solid food. Also the day after each worming.
Recently I bought a powdered probiotic from Nature's Farmacy but haven't had a litter to try it on.

It will help with loose stools, but the way I use it, from day 1, pups rarely get to the point of loose stools.
It provides beneficial bacteria to their gut which aids in digestion, but to me, the greater benefit is the boost it gives their immune system. If you have seen the commercials for the fancy yogurts, etc. they say the bigger part of a person's immune system is from their gut. So it makes sense to me to give the pups something that will enhance their gut function.
What is Probiotics?
Could you enlighten me?

I use Ben-e-bac with every litter

Did giving them ben bac help with their loose stools? Isn't that what's it's for? Probiotics are to help in digestion.
