and, yes, there is a difference."

Tomorrow is the big day at Lubbock City Council Meeting!  Responsible Pet Owners Alliance has worked closely with our "RPOA Lubbock Advisory Committee" in protesting the recommendations that will be presented to council for a work session.  No vote.  The presentation can be found on our website:  www.rpoatexasoutreach.org under the Lubbock Tab.  It's the entire "animal rights" agenda.

A letter of opposition with two enclosures:  "The FBI Report on Animal Rights Terrorism" and a report on the failures of this type legislation in Texas (and elsewhere) was sent to the city manager, mayor, council members, media, county officials and area veterinarians.
Our members in Lubbock have done an excellent job in educating council members on the issues and working with the media to express their concerns with this proposal.

RPOA proposes proactive positive programs and services as being more effective.  The proposal states throughout that it is to address "responsible pet owners" who are not the problem.  As this excellent commentary below by VP/General Manager Dan Jackson states, the problem with Mandatory Spay/Neuter and Microchips is the word "mandatory."  Jackson asks for feedback so we've already expressed our appreciation.  We hope you'll do the same and contact Lubbock city officials if you haven't already.  (Info on our website.)  PETA has sent out their Lubbock Action Alert promoting a "No Birth" Nation for pets.  No Birth?
