My poor baby has been scooting for several months since I rescued her..So after going thru a "bulldog vet" who rescues who thought it was anal glands and also another vet and thinking she was allergic to different foods.. giving anahistamines etc.. I found fleas and put advantage on her and also some lady at the pet store talked me into giving her a duck diet after I explained that I didnt think bullys did well on poultry.. she broke out in an interdygital cyst and was scooting like mad and broke out on her chin and started smelling like corn chips overnight. she was so miserable..I took off work and brought her back into my vet and put her on the table and asked him to please really examine her well.. she did have a little bump near her anal gland I thought it might be infected..he moved her little female parts around and found an infection it was so red and gunky.. OMG.. i looked before and didnt see this but I have always had a male bully before.. I didnt know she had folds there please dont kill me...so anyway... I am treating with malaket wipes and panalog.. I am concerned with bathing her and want to keep it dry when it clears up is it ok to put gold bond powder there or just use the wipes and how often to prevent this again? can we use monistat there or just malaket and panalog? Also for the fleas the vet said only comfortis works none of the topical things.. hmmmm.. ok spent 100 on comfortis.. ugh.. gonna get some fleabusters for the carpet.. I never get flease but i am in an apt building I think she picked them up on a walk...any suggestions on helping with the vulva skin folds and fleas pleeeeezze???
Poor girl...
Jesse is our first girl so my knowledge is limited but I don't see why you couldn't use gold bond powder, although when I use it in a tail pocket it does get gunky. I know some people do use Monistat for yeast. Our vet gave us a shampoo for yeast, it's the equvalent of Malaseb which I don't think they make anymore. We clean her pocket with it every two or three days, maybe you could do that with her folds. We have had a lot of success with Fromm, our guys are far less itchy on Fromm Heartland which is beef and pork based and grain free. Zignature and Arcana are also good foods. You could also try a fish based food. We give our girl a Zyrtec morning and night to help with itching also.
Thank u!
She is doing a little better today...I mixed a little monistat with the panalog on my finger and used that but she got a little welt on her belly after that.. not sure if it was from that or still having a reaction to something.. I switched her to taste of the wild pacific stream and I put a little Evangers Rabbit in it and after only a couple of days her coat looks better.. she is getting happier she even tried to play last night which hasnt happened for a while.. her cyst in between her toes is still there but looks alot better.. she will be on the ointment and antibiotics for 14 days.. Im gonna ask my vet about the shampoo and monistat, gold bond.. thank you for your comments.. Benadryl seems to work better on her zyrtec twice daily did nothing.. but maybe it was because she was just so bad with her skin..
I've used Preperation H on the cysts between the toes...
and it dries them up pretty quick!
just regular prepration H?
any special kind?
Just regular Prep H...
you put it on the cyst and sometimes I put a baby sock over it to keep them from licking it off. Three times a day.
