Hi everyone, Our Bully Lily is a 12 year old spayed female in overall good health for her age. Yesterday I noticed a kidney bean sized protrusion of flesh or tissue coming from her vaginal area. It is still there this morning. My husband gently pushed the tissue back inside - but I think that's just a temporary "fix"
We will call the vet in the morning, but I wonder if anyone has had this happen and what the cause was and also options for treatment. I've read that this happens with intact females in heat or after giving birth - but those are not the conditions here. Because of her age I am worried thiat this is something like cancer.
Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like some kind of prolapse...
my guys are all guys, so we don't have any girls things going on here. I'm guessing you've been to the vet, let us know what they say. Sending good thoughts for her.
good news!
We went to the vet -- turned out to be all right -- she had a full anal gland and had been rubbing her bum and irritated her bum tissue. what a huge relief as we were so concerned about tumors. She got her glands expressed and some topical meds and is right as rain! Thanks so much for your message!
