Tucker update

Hello everybully! So, our vet said that he thinks Tucker injured his neck playing. He poked and prodded him all over and he didn't  yelp or whimper once. When we described his behaviour he said it sounds like he hurt his neck and a disc in his neck was putting pressure on his spine and that's what was causing him to be in pain. He told me to look up "cervical disc disease" and said that can lead to paralaysis so we have to be very careful about how he plays and can't let him play tug or jump. He told us to put him on full rest for 10 days and if he's still in pain then we can get some X-rays done. He also gave us an anti inflammatory to give him for 4 days. He said the blood was probably from Tucker straining to poop. He checked his bum and didn't find any blood.

So, has anyone heard of "cervical disc disease"??

Stella strained her back once

Sounds similar - was a disk thing. She was on Metacam for a few days and we took extra care with her. She healed just fine.

Hope Tucker feels better soon!

My beagle had a slipped disc once

I don't know if that's similar but she was in a great deal of pain -- we couldn't even pet her, etc. She was on muscle relaxers and rest for a week or so and good as new. I hope that Mr. Tucker rests and feels better very soon.
