her hips and knees. She limps intermittently, and also has the weird LUMP on her left leg that the vet really
isn't sure about. He realized by close exam and watching her walk, that even tho the lump is on the LEFT
leg, it's actually her RIGHT that hurts her......(this is our second opinion, and this time, I took her to a vet
who is a bulldog specialist!).....Both docs have told us the same things----less vigorous exercise---but
here's the HUGE difference. I would LOVE to know what y'all have experienced and what YOU did...
1. First vet put her on Vet-Profen, but only for a week (that was a few months ago when the limping started)...
no real follow-up recommendations, and this one-week course of meds was for her immediate pain. But
we are concerned that she's in pain all the time, but just doesn't show it...??? **IMPORTANT NOTE!!** she
did NOT have the lump on her leg when she saw this first vet back in October!!....
....
2. 2nd vet (I call him the "Bulldog Whisperer! hee hee)..... put her on some (we HOPE!) Vet strength Glucosamine/ Chondrointon, etc. chewy things ---
two a day for 6 weeks, then we go to one per day---Praying it helps!!! He does NOT want her on
any type of NSAID because he's afraid if she's medicated, she'll do more than she should and injure herself even more...
As far as the lump, he really didn't know and guessed that MAYBE she cracked the bone there at one time??? He's not
concerned and said its been healing since whenever she *possibly* cracked it...(She and Meaty do play VERY hard
sometimes!!!!)...
.....
....The Xrays show she has osteophytes on her hips and knees, creptitus to her stifles,
unusual radiographic zone in each tibial crest ....
Anybully with experience with any of this, I'd appreciate hearing what treatment was done and how well it worked...thank you!!!

Oh my
Poor baby. Vicki I don't know if this will help you at all but this is what happen to Loulou. Throw pictures Both of our sweet girls looks like the same in weight. Loulou loves to be lazy. Bubba can jump play all he wants and Loulou will just lay there. One Night while trying to get her up to go eat. She scream I totaly freak out. The next morning she did the same. I took her to the vet and had her check out. He said because she is jumping on the bed and jumping down her weight is to much for her back. He has put her specail food one that gives her engery and she losing the weight and much more playful. Sophie just seem a bit to young for all of thiis. I know your vet does know what he talking about or you would not have him. But I do think the weight has alot to do with things. I was giving pain pills for Loulou. i gave them to her for two days then throw the rest away. Let us know how she is doing.

Thank you!!! Hope your LouLou continues to be okay,,,,,! The
problem with Sophie is that she USUALLY uses her stairs to get up and down from the couch and bed, but SOMEtimes she
still jumps, and I know that isn't good! Our vet did also say to make sure she doesn't gain weight, and that right now,
her weight is "Okay, but she could stand to lose a few pounds" :) We'll need to work on that :)
