Hello,

My bullyboy Gunney is 11 1/2. He experiences sleep apnea, but recently he had a severe episode. Usually he will lift his head open his mouth and take a deep breath. This time he lifted his head but fell over. I ran to him, he wasn't breathing, I couldn't open his jaw, so I covered his nose with my mouth and breathed in a couple of times. Then tried to open his jaw still couldn't repeated covering his nose with my mouth and breathed in. Nothing again. I called out to God and asked for His help and his mouth opened he took a really deep breath. He was a bit dazed. We took him to the vet. That was Sat. After xrays showing enlarged heart or...We saw the cardiologist on Monday. The ultra sound showed a mass around his heart but it isn't doing anything. A weak heart with poor blood flow though. He is now on med to strengthen his heart and one to improve blood flow. The doctor also found a mass in his abdomen, but said it COULD be a nogule. The doctors hope is that by strenghtening his heart and improving blood flow there will be no more severe sleep apnea attacks.
