My senior is around 12 or 13 (he was a rescue so we're not entirely sure) and recently has what I think is a mammary tumor on one of his nipples and also will not stop drinking water and then cant hold his bladder at all...Does anyone know if this is related to the possible cancer? he is not currently on any meds except Cosequin for his arthritis...In my heart I know it is probably cancer but I also know his old body wont make it through tratments...is there any other medical condition thta cna cause these symptoms?
Has he had any recent lab work done?
Many things can cause a dog to drink alot of water...Diabetes, Cushing disease, liver disease and even cancer. I hope you can find out the problem. I just love the seniors.
Try not to panic!
A trip to the vet is in order and a full blood panel and urinalisis needs to be performed. Your baby still may have a good amount of time left even if he does have the above mentioned issues. Big Hugs!
I would suspect diabetes first...
have them check his blood sugar. We have a 10 1/2 year old and just got his senior blood work done.
