Puzzled Bully Daddy

Brother in the past had a bad infection under his tail that smelled and wouldn't heal, and eventually had to be docked to heal.

So when he started spinning I figured it was his tail and had been cleaning and putting neosporin with pain relief under it, no smell and little anything else under there.

But still spinning, then I noticed his testicals looked sore and put some straight Tea tree oil on them and he's like a new dog...thank goodness I was bout to pull my hair out, and I don't have much. One thing that masks the symptons is he's white with a black spot on his scrotum, and it looks weird to begin with, only missed it for a couple days but I still felt bad.

I guess he's sore from sitting on them in the house and they [My Boys Buddy and Brother]  lick each other a lot.....

I do love that tea tree oil.

Tea Tree Oil

Please "google" tea tree oil use in pets. It is highly toxic unless diluted!! I use very dilute tea tree oil during the winter when we can't bathe the bullies as frequently as I would like. It does do wonderful things for their coat but again IT MUST BE DILUTED to avoid being toxic. Glad it worked for your guy!

Thanks on tha

It's in a spray and I have a bottle of oil let me look I had no  idea, that's why it helps to chat on here sometimes.

He cleared up over night, and hasn't spun once today.

Of course I was already [in my worry] budgeting for a large vet bill.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks again

I read up on it, it's a good lesson to read before you treat.

I did use 100% Tea Tree oil, on a cotton ball.

I won't again, no symptoms, and a fatal dosage was reported to be 20 mls, or around 4 teaspoons.

These guys are pretty big, 62+ so I'm sure he's OK, and it was last night.

I also have a spray bottle of Vets Best Hot Spot spray formulated by a Vet., with Tea Tree oil,I'll use it next time.

Thanks again....

Steve.

Yes we do

The dogs can worry you.  I'm also glad the for good people on here that will help.

I just need to remember to read up on things before I treat any conditions.....

A couple weeks ago it was a few too many gizzards and I thought I killed them cause they had the runs for two days......

The gizzards were coated with DE cause I don't use flea and tick stuff or worming pills. Seems to work, no fleas ,but they don't visit other dogs so they don't get exposed to them.
