I have a 5 and 1/2 month old bulldog, he is an amazing dog (obivously) and was basiclly house trained when i got him at 8 weeks! I am writing this because lately, just in the past two weeks, he has been peeing in his sleep, and instead of barking to get out of his crate like he use to, he just sleeps right in it! It doesn't only happen in his crate though, he's peed on my bed in his sleep, twice! Any thoughts or suggestions as to if this may be a health issue or just a stubborn bully not wanting to make the trip outside?
If it happens while he's asleep...
it definitely sounds like a medical issue. I would have him checked by a vet that sees a lot of bulldogs. This doesn't happen while he's up and awake?
Sometimes it does! If hes
Sometimes it does! If hes really concentrating on playing with one of his toys or something he'll pee and realize after the fact, and sometimes he'll pee while he's walking, but it doesnt happen alot, i don't know if it's just him being a puppy or something medical.
It sounds like something medical...
even as puppies they usually squat to pee. It could be anything from a urinary tract infection to a mild case of spina bifida. Do you have a vet that sees other bulldogs? If not there is a list by state on the home page. Let us know what you find out.
Thank you for your advice! I
Thank you for your advice! I am not 100% sure about my vet, i just chose the best one in the area i live in, but now i'm going to check on that! Now that you mention a urinary tract infection, if the symptoms are similar to humans it very well could be a possibility! He has a vet appointment June 3rd to get his lyme vaccine boostered, but I don't want to wait that long to talk to them about this issue!
