Some of you may remember him as he had many health issues including 7 surgeries. He came from a top breeder here in Ontario. I have posted many times in the past. He began with signifigant laboured breathing Sat night. I took him to the emerg clinic right away. Today they discovered a large malignant tumour attached to his heart which would have caused his death within days. I put him down at 2:16 lovingly with cookies. I lied to him and said he was going in the car to go home. I needed him to feel better and a bit happy at the end. I am frozen in shock, but will be better in time. This is my second bully. I wish he could have lived another couple of years but 10 is still a good age for a bulldog. He was bulldog of the month some time ago. Thank you to all who have supported me with his many issues over the past few years. He was the absolute sweetest boy ever.

I'm so sorry to hear this...
Mr Higgins was one of my favorites on the board. He is such a sweet looking boy. This is what happened to Oreo also and it's devastating.
Deborah, I am so sorry about Mr. Higgins
No matter how much time we have, it is never long enough. Mr. Higgins was a sweetheart and we will all miss him and we share in your grief.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

HEARTFELT HUGS
I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed your posting of your cute boy. May the new year bring peace and less pain in the space that is empty. xo
Thank you everyone
Reading all the condolences really does help me. I know most of you have been in my place. I am most likely at the worst point right now. Crying on and off all day today. I really really need him to come back, just to tell him once more how much I loved him, how cute he was and such a good boy. I must have told him these things every day but want to just tell him once more while I kiss him. He was the best sweetest bully of all time. I will love him forever. I am terribly terribly sad.
So Sorry
May Mr. Higgins run wild free of disease and pain over the rainbow bridge. Big Hugs to you in your time of sorrow.

Deborah - first time I've
Deborah - first time I've visited this forum in months, and I am so very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I know what you are going through and that the pain will gradually ease over time. It is obvious that Mr Higgins was very lucky to have you as his companion, and I know he received the very best of care his entire life. Try to remember all the happy and fun times that you shared and those memories, while bittersweet at first, will get you through this.
So sorry for your loss of Mr.
So sorry for your loss of Mr. Higgins! I lost my baby girl the middle of November and the heartbreak is indescribable. However, someone on the forum shared a quote by Dr. Seuss which said, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened"
That quote played a major role in my healing and has now become the mantra I embrace in loving my other two bully's!
I hope it blesses you as it blessed me!
Rest In Peace Mr. Higgins!
So sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.
God bless

I appreciate all of your condolences
It does make it easier knowing so many of you have had similar losses. It is 2 weeks now and I am still grieving so much. I lost my first bully in 2000 but don`t remember it being this difficult. The circumstances were different with my first bully.
It is very very hard not having a bully around.
