Dr. Kinnear's Office

Hi, I take it that Dr. Kinnear has retired. I have a wonderful vet in the neighborhood but took the girls to see Dr. Kinnear a few times the first year we had them. I would like a 2nd opinion from a bully expert since my older girl has been having some chronic issues (I figure it can't hurt).

Is Dr. Kinnear's office completely closed or is there another bully expert there? Any recommendations? We are willing to travel a couple of hours from NYC.

Thank you!

I'm also in NYC....

I've been to Dr. Kinnear once. I don't belive the office closed,  he just retired.  I don't know the names of any other dr. there but I recall hearing there's another who knows the breed well. Maybe you can call and ask them!  Sorry I don't have more information! I do love the vet I use, but they don't specialize in bulldogs although are quite knowledgable. I'd be happy to share their info.

Also I'm sure you tried this, but the Malaseb wipes really worked when Molly had issues in her nose rope and feet.  She had gross brownish red gunk in there and it went away within a couple of days of using the wipes.  Worth a try if you haven't used them yet.

Oops...

Sorry thought you wrote chronic yeast issues, hence the malaseb suggestion! Sorry!

Thank you!

I will give the office a call and see what they say. She has several chronic issues that are manageable but they keep creeping up (one of them is yeast in her toes and ears so I will look for those wipe). :)

We go to Richmond Valley Vet

Your right Dr Kinnear has retired a few years ago, he was amazing with our English bulldog but we use Dr Caban now and he is just as great!! I highly recommend him..he is very gentile with our two Bullys, Puddy (3yrs old) and Romeo (1yr old). He has even taken my calls at 4:00 am when my oldest Puddy had a terrible allergic reaction and I couldn't sleep. Every little change for the worse Dr. Caban was there at all hours of the morning to talk me through it. He worked closely with Dr. Kinnear and I would say he is an expert when it comes to Bulldogs..

Thank you for the referral

A bully owner facebook friend also mentioned Richmond Valley Vet, I will give them a try. I really just want a 2nd opinion from a bully specialist and I was so sad that Dr. Kinnear is now retired (but much deserved by him).
