Bully girl with ongoing diarrhea

We've taken our 6 yr old bully to the vet for IDC treatment and the vet prescribed Amoxicillin.  The IDC got better quickly but returned 2 weeks later. we called the vet who had us pick up more of the same antibiotic.  After one day of 2 dose's she got diarrhea which may have been coincidental. I called the vet who said continue the antibiotic and that it was unrelated to her diarrhea.  One week later, after giving her sweet potatoes, plain yogurt, and boiled white chicken she continued to have diarrhea so back to the vet we went. By this time she has lost weight and just looks sick.  he prescribed a new antibiotic and said she had a bacteria infection. She has 1/2 pill left and is no better.  I am beside myself with worry and plan to call the vet again tomorrow.  She appears to be weak in her hind quarters.  Please, if anyone has any idea what may be happening let me know.

Antibiotics kill off a lot of good bacteria as well as

the bad. My guess, her diarrhea is caused by the antibiotic. That's not uncommon. If the vet insists on continuing the meds, ask for something like Kaopectate.
You can try using Kaopectate, ask your vet. Don't know how much good it will do if the antibiotics are upsetting her digestive system.

Feed her just plain white rice and boiled chicken, no yogart. Sometimes dogs have problems with dairy.

Good luck

You can also..,

try giving her a probiotic. Pumpkin is good for diarrhea along with the rice and boiled chicken.
