my dog is almost 6 and we have dealt with this for at least 3 years. It's such an annoying problem. We go get them drained and the day later he scoots again. We have not found anything that has worked. Apparently more fibre is supposed to help but we tried adding fibre and it made no difference. I hate bringing him to get them drained because it's such an uncomfortable thing to have done. He very much dislikes having his butt touched even if it's by accident. If your vet has a suggestion please post it! Sorry, I'm not much help!

Hi,
My bulldog, Danger, had the same problem. I took him in to get them expressed every month for awhile. Finally, he got a terrible infection and had to go into surgery to have them cleaned out and packed with antibiotics. After that, we haven't had any problems. We combined it with a teeth cleaning and that saved a little bit.
