8 week old puppy always sleeping

Good Afternoon Guys!

My puppy just turned 8 weeks old on Saturday, recently he keeps sleeping all the time. Today I took him to my office and he sleep 85% of the day and seems kind of sluggish when I take him out to do his duties. I am hoping that this is just because hes bored but even when I take him outside.

We took him to the vet last night for a general checkup and they said his temp was 103, a little high but nothing concerning for bulldog puppies. He has ear mites as well.

Any feedback on this?

Thanks

The temp makes me worried you have something else...

Going on. I would find a good Bulldog knowledgeable vet in your area and head there very quickly. It may well be pneumonia or something settling in and you need to get it figured out. I would not leave a sluggish pup with a fever un-vetted for much longer, and the vet you visited did nothing to diagnose or treat the fever.

Just my opinion, but I have a lot of experience!

Thank you for the

Thank you for the advice!

Now I am very worried, we just lost a puppy a few weeks ago due to what they think was a bacterial pneumonia.

It was kind of weird, once Chase got home he was a different pup, he was playing with my daughter, rolling around, and going nuts.

The vet we went to told us that 103 in a puppy doesn't scare her since hes just a puppy.I am going to take our pup to the vet in Westerly RI that was recommended on this site. I will let you know of the outcome.

Thank you again!

I totally agree with Amy...

a puppy should not be lethargic and 103 is a little high.  Please let us know what the new vet says, I can't imagine that the other one did nothing for your guy.

Thanks Guys! We are going

Thanks Guys!

We are going to see the recommended vet from this site in Westerly RI tonight. The receptionist originally told me that he should be fine and just to monitor him but I am taking him in anyway. I don't want to chance anything as I have first hand witnessed how quickly a bulldog puppy can take a turn for the worse.

Is there anything I should advise the vet to look for or tests that I should request that they run?

Just a heads up, we took

Just a heads up, we took Chase to the vet again last night out of precaution. All of yesterday he seemed like a different pup at home, he was running around like a nut and trying to chew anything he can. His temperature was 102, breathing was good, and chest xrays were clear. He was very quiet and actually slept when he got to the vet though, I am wondering if he is just very shy around people he doesn't know.

Seems fine

He has alot of growing to do, maybe it's just regular puppy sleepiness. :-)

Thanks,
