very interesting puppy (elizabeth read this if your still in doubt)

buyers out there. So the puppy buyers out there right now are really bizarre. Do you all deal with this on a normal basis? And prices----really low unless you have been doing this for 20-30 years and have one heck of a website going.

I want a fawn female only- send them a pic of one and guess what...they reply with" Were looking for a smaller one"..wow, i didnt know runts could be any smaller..but ok

I really want a younger puppy- refer them to some others i know have puppies- and guess what still too old. These people want puppies at 5-8 weeks. So FYI, tons of people out on the market are wanting to pick thier puppy from the day its born and get it ASAP. Hold onto them too long or 8 weeks by law and they are no longer interested.

Want a white puppy with a red spot- refer them. Nope, they wanted the red spot over the eye!

And price, well let me say this. I would rather give them away to good people i know personally than send them off to someone looking for a bargain.

Sorry just had to rant. Really frustrated with people right now and even more frustrating is that rescues are getting swamped with incomming dogs and guess what!!! many of young puppies from idiots who paid that bargain deal and cant afford simple common procedure for them!
Last week i rehomed two 6 month olds and still have 8 more needing to come in all under 3 years of age!

bonding

When people give me that crap about wanting a young pup so it will bond with them, my answer is -
A young pup has bonded with me first, then hubby, then other people it meets as part of its socialization, and will then bond with other people. To my mind, the only dog that won't bond with a new owner is a dog that never learned to bond with the breeder as a young pup.
Over the years I've placed quite a few dogs as older pup or adults and EVERY ONE of them settled into their new home and were part of the family within 2-3 days!

SO TRUE !!

Rhiann you said a mouthfull there ! I have often got so upset with some people , I just turn around and tell them they just need to get a stuffed animal .....lol Some say they need the bonding of a very young puppy ....they dont know bulldogs to well because it sure doesnt mean a bulldog to be young to bong with you . JMO !!

re:puppy buyer

Wow! as a future potential puppy buyer, that was eye opening...
we got our first bully when she was 12 weeks old. Frankly, I wouldn't want to get one any younger... I feel more secure in the knowledge of "healthy" at that age.. I can't understand why someone would want to pay the kind of money that bulldogs cost for a 5 - 7 week old pup...
also, i have to "meet" the puppy. pictures are all cute, but it's about personality, right? although i am fond of brindles, it is not what i have now...
sorta like people are looking for something to "fit" their perception...

Hope you find the right homes for all your babies.

It's a buyers market right now......

alot of people don't have the money to spend on a dog especially as expensive as bulldogs so the ones who do have it to spend are looking for what they want. I try(notice I say try) not to let these people frazzle me. If I don't have what they want and what they want is bizarre(specific marks in certain places etc) I just thank the good Lord that they moved on. I think all puppies eventually meet their forever owners in time. I have one puppy in my last litter right now that is white with red marks and lots of ticking and is 12 weeks old. He's not the prettiest colored of boys but eventually someone will see him and it will be love for both of them-if I have to hold him for a while till that person comes so be it. Don't let these people frazzle you too badly-they aren't worth it. Just thank God they moved on to someone else LOL.

To those who understand no explanation is needed. To those who don't no explanation is possible.

Your post is so true.

I cannot tell you how picky some of the puppy buyers out there are right now. I have heard everything you talked about.

WOW I can't say I experience people like this....thank goodness

I usually choose the puppy for the buyer or if I have a few pets only then they can make their pick.

I have had a couple ask for a red or a solid white but never as fussy as what you are getting.
