Sometimes "it's the little things" that mean so much!

I just completed my first "REAL" conformation show entry for Twister (we're going to get our feet wet in the 6-9 puppy class at the Brooksville, FL - Winter Circuit shows)

anyhow....I cannot begin to tell you how awesome it felt to finally be able to fill in the Breeder, Sire & Dam sections of an entry form, let alone knowing a real date of birth....with Dixie, my first bulldog & performance gal, those fields were always completed as "unknown" because she came from the SPCA and we used her adoption date for a birthday! LOL

Ok - I know, sappy, but just had to share how nice that felt and something most take for granted!! Here is a recent pic of my special boy! Wish us luck....

Some people throw away ribbons at shows????

unfathomable! very poor sportsmanship. we have SO much fun going, and the ribbons are always exciting to get I think. they're all in a scrapbook, with the photos that go along with them. also...the little goodie bags and other stuff at the BCNC specialty show were super fun to dig through happy.gif I love to see poeple who are there enjoying spending time with their dogs. Have Fun!!

Thanks so much Amy...

Yes, Dixie is and always will be my heart and soul bulldog...she & I have been through an incredible journey in our 6 years together and she's accomplished more than my wildest dreams! I think a good bulldog friend said it best when she told me "Unknown gave you the greatest bulldog ever - You should send Unknown a thank you card sometime"! LOL

Re: Sometimes "it's the little things" that mean so much!

I guess it's all how you look at it. I think Dixie is so amazing and because she is a rescue and you can't fill out all the info on her performance entries, makes her even more special. You know what I mean... Dixie is just so awesome!!

Can't wait to see pics from Twister's first show!!! Good luck to the lil' handsome boy!!

Wow! Pauline -

thank you so much....she was, of course, my favorite too! LOL Hoping we can play with 2010 Nationals too, if nothing else in the rally ring!

Re: Absolutely Wonderful, totally not sappy.....

Dixie was my favorite at last years Nationals .

flbulldogmom's picture

That's good - I do well with sappy too! LOL

I've done one fun match with Twister (have another on Saturday) and have saved those ribbons for his scrapbook...LOL!!

I've never thrown one of Dixie's ribbons away, even from the non regular classes, those are just in a big mason jar! LOL - every ribbon holds a special memory or a learning experience and I cherish them all!! Never want to be the handler who throws their ribbons in the trash at a show - I think that's awful and totally poor sportsmanship!

Ahhh! Carrie - that was so sweet!

Thank you so much, means a lot to me.....I cannot wait, we have our 2nd match on Saturday for a little more practice, so far I am loving it!

I agree with Carrie

It must feel wonderful... I remember my first few confirmation shows and still have those ribbons... and the one from my first points and majors... be sappy all you want! These guys deserve sappy humans!
