Olivia had a surgical implant on January 9th. The repro vet's paperwork said the due dates would be March 8,9,10. March 8th is only 58 days from the implant. Is that right?

I count 60 days with the day they are implanted being day 1 and section them on day 60. Have never had any problems with doing it that way and the pups we always ready and some looked like they would not have made it another day. I have had 1 go on day 59. Good Luck!
My vet, Dr. Butchko, for surgical implants counts the day the girl is implanted as Day 1 and scedules the C-section at Day 60. I had my girl implanted on Jan. 8th so my girl's due date is tomorrow. The day 60 thing is pretty accurrate too. Almost every time they go into labor on day 60 with the exception of one that had to have the c-section early to save the girl's life because she was getting too big. Good luck with you girl and I hope she has a big healthy litter!!
Due dates aren't actually related to breeding dates, though if a vet or breeder always does progesterone and/or LH testing and then bases the breeding date off of those results they would be able to use breeding date as a basis for calculating due date.
On average, a bitch will go into labor 65 days from the date of their LH peak (with the day of LH being day 0). Again on average, LH peak precedes ovulation by 2 days. So if you don't do LH testing, or you start testing too late to identify the LH peak, and you assume that the day that progesterone exceeds 5 ng/mL is the day of ovulation (which is only a rule of thumb and isn't true for many bitches) you can expect labor to begin 63 days post ovulation, give or take a day.
It follows then that if you breed 5 days post LH or 3 days post assumed ovulation date, the expected due date would be 60 days post breeding date (with the day of breeding being day 0).
Personally, I don't like to wait for a bitch to go into labor to proceed with a c-section. If the breeding was timed based on thorough testing, I prefer scheduling the c-section for a few hours into the 59th day from the breeding.
So using my timing calculation and Olivia's date of surgical insemination, and assuming she was bred on that date because her LH peak was identified on Jan. 4th or her progesterone exceeded 5 ng/mL on Jan. 6th, I would schedule the c-section for Tuesday the 9th a few hours after the time of day the surgical insemination was done (IE, if the surgical was done at 9 AM, I would ideally look at having the c-section done around noon).
Only Positive Thoughts
I wish you only the very best for the upcoming litter, Sue. May the delivery be uneventful and the puppies all healthy and full of quality.

Exactly so due date is about 61 days from LH peak..
which is date of ovulation not date of conception.

If only I was as good a person as my dogs seem to think I am!

due date
The due date is calculated from the LH peak and not the time that the semen was implanted usually.
We're planning on Tuesday.
Thanks so much for all your responses.
She's BIG but doing fine.
I'll let you know!
Gosh...I hate the waiting...

Due date calculation

We do the same 60 days after implanting
59 60 days from implant
Would be about 63 64 days from ovulation
