Pose for show wins

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how it came about (or what the reasoning behind it is) that the accepted pose for Bulldog show award photos is to set them up at angle to the camera?

a 45 deg angle shows the whole dog off

What I see

in lots of Bulldog win photos is that the angled pose actually results in obscuring the topline & tailset, as well as the width of front, but maybe that's because the set up is off by a few degrees! My main show experience is with my other breed, Kuvaszok. Even though the head is considered the most beautiful part of the Kuvasz (per the standard), we still always pose them in profile for our win photos. And most breeds are set up in profile in their awards pictures, so I just wondered how it came to be that Bulldoggers use the 45 degree angle pose.

Anyway, thanks for the response, Louise.
