I have a bitch that has a spot on top of her front foot/lower leg. Some have said its from licking her foot. I'm not sure about that....could be I guess. What have you done to get it to cleared up and keep it from coming back? If you've had it happen you know exactly what I'm referring to.
Looking forward to hearing responses.

I agree....
My bitch has one on her foot, my vet said the same thing to me, a histiocytoma. Takes a about month to go away.

Re: Help - Spot on top of feet/lower front leg
Could it be ringworm? I got to see one diagnosed a few years back. Darkening a room and shining a black light on it will cause it to glow. Then a treatment routine of anti fungal should clear it up. Otherwise, yellow listerine has great antiseptic qualities.
Perserverance isn't a long race.
It's a series of short races,
ran one after the other.

Re: Help - Spot on top of feet/lower front leg
I had a couple younger girls that got them. Vet did a biopsy & said it was a lick granuloma, licking at it out of boredom. It looks like a callous. They did not go away.
Re: Callous?
Captain gets these.. Frustrating!

Can you take a picture and post it?
I believe the others gave you some good ideas but for education purposes, I would like to see a picture if possible.
histiocytoma perhaps?
could be a histiocytoma. Benign tumor, sometimes locally aggressive. Usually go away themselves but not always.
A biopsy would rule out or in this or a mast cell tumor etc...
Mast Cell Tumor
Harrold........It could be a mast cell tumor. Please take her to the vet and get a biopsy. I lost a Bulldog to a mast cell tumor. It was between her toes and I just thought it was an inner ditigal cyst that she was licking. Google it to see what you think. Good Luck.
Callous?
Harrold,
I have seen dogs get callouses on the outside front legs just above the pastern from constantly sleeping on that area. Others can get these callouses on their elbows. The only way to get rid of them is to give the dog bedding, but the problem with many dogs is that they tend to mark their bedding and then lay in it!

i love using witch hazel
it drys and kills bacteria.
Now most come in a squeeze bottle you can just squeeze on the area, let airdry and then dust with gold bond foot powder, i started using the foot powder as its for athletes foot. Most dont like the taste of the witch hazel, but if they do lick, spray with bitter apple.
If you have not put her on some cephalexin i would give 10 days with the above. She needs to brake the habit of licking the bitter apple will help with that. I would rather use cephalexin then SIMPLICEF even know the dosing is easier on the human, i have not had good results on SIMPICEF
