you spend on your bulldogs, from exhibiting to dog food and vet bills? I only showed 5 or 6 weekends last year and showed 2 bullies and I am hovering around 10k dollars! Of course this is food for all of them and vet bills, etc.
I think I have an expensive hobby! Seriously, do you all set budgets for showing, etc.? I think that I will have to start being very selective about where I go and who I take. Any tips that you all would like to share to make my hobby more affordable? LOL.

people have gone into bankruptcy over it ....
Honestly, I know of people who keep going when they can't afford to.
I was handed my reality check when I spent $6,000+ on vet bills in one year, for one darling Bulldog girl. (I'd do it again ... she was worth it.) But I knew the days of extensive show travel from the middle of Montana had ended for me ... and that was before the big gas crunch. When I added entry fees, lodging, and fuel, they became "Four Hundred Dollar Weekends". My last show was in 2000.
Unless you live in a metro area with plenty of shows or have buddies to share the travel costs, it's a sport limited to the elite. From any angle, it leaves me out. I'll have to root for pals from the middle of the Rockies.

To those who understand no explanation is needed. To those who don't no explanation is possible.
If you figured it out....
you probably wouldn't continue! lol.
Re: Have you ever figured out how much money
Well...here in Canada, entries are $25-28/day and we show fri sat and sun. In Ontario I live an average of 2 hours or less from a show every weekend. So without gas and hotel and taking time off for Christmas and a couple fun weekends = 49*76.5 (I averaged the entry costs)= $3748.50 and after that add the cost of gas, hotel, food and advertising if you wish.....I have a friend that campaigned a dog (owner handled) for 44 weeks and ran an ad monthly in Canine Review and thier total for just showing was $48 925...now add food and vet etc LOL so like was mentioned earlier....dont count and just enjoy the ride LOL
There is no way I would ever want to add it up
what you don't know doesn't bother you lol
