I was blessed with my first litter (4 boys, 1 girl) on Groundhogs Day. Now comes the task of picking out the "keeper" to show. What am I looking for the next 7 weeks that will put one ahead of the rest? If you have pics of your "keepers" at this young age please share!
thanks..
that sounds like what everyone else thinks also. The stud owner wants second pic at 8 weeks so i have to make my decision by then unfortunatly I have three that I'm tossing around but the fourth and fifth could change a lot I know. Thanks for the advice!
Keepers
Shelly,
There is no rule or stage that you can tell: "this is how it looks like a keeper".
I know that you probably just want a guidance. But trust me, there are just too many variables like nutrition of the pups and different lines/genetics but most important: every litter is different, so only experience will help you know (or guess) who to keep or not.
And it´s always difficult.
That´s why if you can keep the pups until 4-6 months old, you will have a much better chance then choosing at 7 weeks.
