Is gorgeous! And that is what I would consider a silver brindle. Not as much fallow in Gr. as in the pup. Chey is almost a silver brindle, especially on her head. She too is gorgeous.
I know Cheyenne has the silver look to her. Not my fav color, always looks a bit dirty. Funny this pictures makes her look like she has more fawn in her coat. In person it's not.
I've never heard of a grey brindle. Fallow brindles depending on their patterns and shading can have a silver look to their base color, but I have never heard it described as grey. I would be interested in seeing what people are calling grey brindles too. e
That's a great question, one I have asked many times before. To exclude a color (fallow) that has been used historically in our standard since it's inception is rather silly to me. e
I registered my first bulldog over 25yrs ago and she was wheaten/white. That was an option on the papers. She was more of a palomino color, quite yellow, shading deeper to almost red on her shoulders. Interesting that they don't even list that color anymore, but they list grey brindle. Who makes those changes? Does AKC make an arbitrary decision or do they consult with BCA?

truthfully, so many dogs are registered incorrectly color wise, I don't think it matters to get too technical. If you call her fawn, most people will associate her with a light tan color. e

google the word, you will find references to hobby birds, deer and fields left in-between crops. . Pale yellow to pale red. The degree of black tipping is what makes them either light blond (like a cocker) to the really "sooty" ones, with lots of black "tips" (but not brindle) Similar to the color ranges in sable collies.. from light sable with not much black intermingled to very dramatic black-tipped sables. e
i have had others tell me she is gray fawn... i had never heard of fallow fawn. her papers are listed fawn...... what do you think?
not a very good picture of her but all i have access to right now... she has a lot of black tips on her hair and her tail is pretty much black as well......
is just the base color plus the stripes. So naming the brindle has everything to do with the color underneath. Take away the black stripes and what color is left is your base color for brindle (red brindle, fawn brindle, fallow brindle, etc) I always wondered if we coulod ever get a white brindle like a white tiger... Heck, we can get white with polka dots! e
Is one of the colors listed in the standard, starting from the very first standard ever written. It is what most people call (incorrrectly)"fawn" Here is a fallow dog;
Fallow is like a yellow lab or blond cocker and any shade of light tan/with various degrees of "sable-ing" (or black tips). Fawn is like a fawn boxer and many people consider that red-fawn or reddish-fawn. Red is red with no mistaking it. E
yes
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.
Re: Question...
Most likely AKC would except it. I think that is how most of those color options got there.

Question...
What would happen if you were to write in your own color using one that has been used historically, like fallow?

I think it's just slange for a brindle or dirty brindle
not a real color.
