Won't drink

Has anyone had any problems getting their bully to drink? My daughters girl won't drink for nothing. She had blood work done and they said that she has to get her to drink to get her kidneys functioning again. We've tried broth, and pedialyte to no avail,. Any suggestions would help.
Thanks
Roanne

Mine will only drink fresh, ice cold water...

if the water is warm or has been sitting, she won't drink it. When I get home from work I can tell she hasn't touched her water all day. So I dump the old water and as soon as I put fresh, ice cold water... there she goes and gulps it down! And I only give her filtered water.

I had this issue with a dog as well

I had to go to just moist dogfood..ONLY for a long time. she just refused to drink water.
I just did not get it though.....she drank out of the puddles and such ..but not in the house.
turned out in the end to be.......
she did not like the Bottled water that I used
switched to tap water and she was fine..
so you just never know..sometimes as simple as a change in the water can help

funny how dogs are different and mine would not touch the filter

every dog if soo different.
I had a friend that raises pigs and they had this problem in the pig as well. what they ended up using was koolaid..since they thought the smell might entice the pig. and it did..

Will she eat rice?

Rice contains a lot of water. I would mix some hamburger with rice and make it really soupy and see if she would eat it.

I'd stop all dry food and only offer home-cooked stews

or use canned food for a while until she gets accustomed to a moist softer diet, and I would syringe water into the mouth (between cheek and side teeth) about 2cc's at a time, which should be about one swallow...doing 3 or 4 of these at a time. Its not ideal but if the dog needs fluids and she's not willing to drink, the owner MUST act for dog's own good IMHO.
