Weird Issues With Myas One Eye.. Cherry Eye Possibly?

This just started happening. I am depressed over it, sort of disgusted, but at the same time not as angry as I could be. This is the weirdest thing I've seen, but maybe it's not so weird.

Mya is now going on 8 months old, Started in JULY, she had her eye swell up a little bit like a cherry eye, but it went away. It did this once every other week since then. It's happening again now. Is this due to pollen? Has anyone else seen this? It's not staying permanent and once I see it happen I do an eye cleanse and maybe some artifical tears and rub it to massage it a little bit..

What's the deal? I am working on getting her to the vet, but 2009 has turned into a bad year and financially things are a bit rough now. It goes away. Goes back to completely being normal.. I am also wondering if this has to do with her breathing possibly she gets too excited sometimes and I think maybe the strain on her nasal area makes it buldge once in awhile, usually once she goes to sleep it goes back to normal. Very weird. I am surprised at this, as I thought I was past that worrying stage with any cherry eye issue, but I guess not. It's happened a total of maybe 4-5 times since July when it started really getting hot etc. I'm just looking for any type of insight. It's depressing me now in a way. Even though it goes away, I am just stuck. I know this is common for bulldogs, and I read massaging it helps, but anything else you can think of? I'm going to damp a q tip finally and put it in her nostril gently and see if any gunk comes out, I got gunk out once before and I think maybe that did it. Not sure. :/

I am talking about a matter of her eye looking like she has cherry eye, It's always the "Right" eye, where the breeder said her breathing was a little constricted in the right nostril... It comes and goes within a matter of 5-6 hours if that. It's bizzare. It doesn't happen all the time, like I said maybe once a week or every other week now. I thought it had to do with the grass being cut, or rough housing, but I'm unsure now. I think its linked to her nose and her breathing issues when she gets too excited as if maybe shes popping that gland temporarily from stress on the nasal cavity or something. Ugh what a mess, I hope not, but I'm feeling very uptight right now.

Yeah.. It's driving me crazy

It went away again. This dog's driving me nuts anymore!!! Haha.. Let's predict when it should pop out again... Sigh. I will try benadryl if it happens again may be allergies is right. That's what I think it is. :/ Then again who knows.

Re: Weird Issues With Myas One Eye.. Cherry Eye Possibly?

She's only 8 mos. old, so as her head continues to grow, it may eventually just stay in. Since it only comes out occasionally, I'd expect that. If she has a mild allergy in certain weather, she might rub it causing it to come out, too. As long as it goes back either on it's own or with gentle massage and stays in, I'd leave it alone. Good luck!

Not sure about the breathing issue connection but does

sound like cherry eye.
Our Harley had surgery for cherry eye in right eye when we picked him up at nine weeks.
Shortly after, his other eye started "popping" out, mostly when he was "rough housing". I could add drops and massage it back in pretty easily. At first it occurred once or twice a week. Started happening less and less. He is now 8 months old and it hasn't come out in a month. Can you hear me knocking on wood as I type happy.gif. We are really hoping that it has resolved on it's own.
