I'm not sure what the next course will be and I am not sure what his ISSUES really are. When they found him he had demodectic mange, allergy stuff (probably) double ear infections, exploded toe cysts, a hernia, etc. Now that he is cleared up I have to find some sort of long-term treatment. My vet thinks (and I agree) that his issues are probably chronic. I did some Atopica research myself and it looks like it might clear up skin but doesn't actually treat the problem? That might be enough, I just don't know. It is so confusing!!!! I just want him to stay well, he is so much better and more comfortable and happy now. I will eagerly look forward to hearing how the Atopica works for you.

My girl gets it on her face when bred and also a bit after the pups are weaned. My vet said it is hormonal and if you just had her spayed it may be hormones. We clean it with malaseb wash and wipes or other anti bacterial/fungl and it clears right up!

well actually i noticed it first when she was spayed about 2 weeks ago. she had a bad outbreak on her back, figured it was stress. I went out today for about 4 hours without her and when i came home she had a little outbreak on her forehead. she was stressed that she had to stay home. so now i wonder, how do you treat a bully for stress, if that is what triggers these outbreaks? does that sound crazy? she has been on it for a week now. she has done well, it appears to be helping her skin issues. i see subtle changes and it is still early. my vet is very pleased with results she has seen with the drug and minimal side effects. J & T

my best friend is also a vet tec, had her ask her vet and he agrees here have been good results, so now it is just a matter of time, as soon as his abs & steroids were finished it came right back, so now we need to get him on the right dosage-could take 3 months for that, but I sure will keep you posted. hope bobo gets some relief too, are you thinking about giving it a try???

to hear he is feeling better and I hope it continues. Bobo is done with the Celexaphen in a couple of days, and will start to go down on the prednisone. I have a feeling stuff is going to start to surface again. What do you think of the Atopica? Did you research it?
I am!
