Boo still regurgitate some this morning. the nurse said it's common after the anesthesia. I know it's common after the anesthesia but the day after?
I can pick him up Thursday and then see how it goes for the next 2-3 weeks, if he continues to regurgitate, then he will need the major surgery to wrap his stomach around the esophagus so the stomach acid won't shoots up to his esophagus. He won't snore as loud anymore, I didn't mind before and I actually missed his snore when he's away.
Good vibes coming your way. EOM
Thanks for posting
I logged on to check.
No, it's not unusual to throw up the day of surgery - or even the day after. The day of is usually due to anesthesia. Some agents, like isoflurane, leave a bad taste in the mouth and can induce vomiting. Throat irritation from the breathing tube and/or repeated vomiting can cause vomiting (Q was throwing up for these reasons for 2 days post op).
I'll be beaming good thoughts for your boy.

well that is good to hear
that he is at least a bit better for now anyhow..
that surgery for the fundoplocation...sp?? is what I had done. if the wrap is too tight you can not ever get sick to your stomach again ... if it is too loose it does not stop the acid from coming up.
hope he continues to get better
and can evade the big surgery of the esophagus
