Treating Cancer.... Is there any suppliments that I can

give my bullie for weight gain... she is being treated for cancer and her time with us is very limited ..she is eating good and everything we give her have increased her food amt but is still dropping weight.. will be taking back to vet fri and ask them about it but thought you might have some ideas of what we could add to her food to help her... Cancer is unoperatable and and very advanced... thanks for any suggestions you might have to give her more time...

weight gain supplement

Look into the weight gain supplement made by Dog Bloom called Xtrabloom Wate.
J.E. Ronicker Laboratories Inc. West Milton, OH 45383.
The jar I have is old enough there isn't a web address on it, or a phone # either, but they have a booth at our local shows each year. I used it on a dog that wouldn't hold a show weight and for nursing mom's that couldn't eat enough to feed pups and hold their own weight too.
They have a full line of vitamin and mineral supplements too.

I'm so sorry to hear this Judy

Will she eat raw hamburger? I would give her cream cheese or peanut butter as treats. Anything soft and high caloric that she will eat. Good luck.

When my first Lhasa had lymphoma sarcoma, the vet gave her predi

which really spurred her appetite.

Good luck and lots of prayers.

those are tough....get some ensure....

becasue its in the mouth....chewing has to be very difficult....i did have one rescue with esphogus
and we had to blend everything....into a milk shake consistency....
we got some "ensure" at the grocery...their is also another very high energy drink doctors recommend for cancer pt...i cant think of it...but its next to the ensure....my husband when he had cancer always got it to help keep weight on....
your in my prayers....

Thanks for the suggestion..... i'll start her on mac and cheese.

it should be soft enough for her to eat.. the cancer is in her mouth and esphagus and her nasal we have her on antibotics for the infection and meds to try and shrink the mass so she can breath...

also for foods.....

my bone cancer dogs...i would go mac and cheese and bacon fat.... anything with a high fat content....i wasnt worried as much as what they were eating but keeping the weight on....pasta is a good source of fat...i always added butter....not sauce as that has to many sugars....
warm food as they got a little sicker their taste buds would go off....so warm food was always good....
good luck....and keep us posted....

Thanks Judy..... i'll check into those links and

the acupunture for her...
