thanks for the input....

thanks for your time....

I use Bufferin.....

1 Bufferin per day is what my holistic vet recommended.

I just took Opal to the vet tonight

for her arthritis and other minor issues. She turned 9 in December.

My vet said to give Ascriptin (sp), coated aspirin. Opal is 58 lbs. He said she can have 2 pills up to 3 times a day (every 8 hours).

so does that look ok then??

it is lightly coated to ease stomach upset.... i guess rather than using metcam she needs to use aspirin as it helps with her dogs eyes as he has high blood pressure....

Bufferin

We use an aspirin that has acid neutralizing coating -- ie Bufferin for our old timers whenever they are showing some slowness in their ambling around.   Some dogs have digestive systems which move coated or enteric pills through too fast and they don't get as much benefit from them.

We always used the regular coated aspirin...

Ascriptin is a good brand, 325 mg.
